We repair all makes and models of cars, trucks, and SUVs, from minor scrapes and door dings to major collision damage repair. Our goal is always to bring your vehicle back to pre-accident condition. This means not only looking like new, but also ensuring the vehicle is just as safe as before.
Every repair includes a lifetime workmanship warranty for your protection and peace of mind.
The first step to any major repair is to get in touch with our staff at our Minneapolis / St Paul body shop. Call us during business hours, or email us after hours, to get started.
Collision Repair
We work with all auto insurance companies both in Minnesota and from other states, and are a preferred insurance provider for many. We repair all makes and models, domestic and import – from Audi to Ford to Volvo.
Our goal for collision repair is that after the repairs are complete, your vehicle will look as it did prior to the collision, and be equally as safe, with a long and reliable lifespan ahead. With professional collision repair techniques and equipment, your vehicle should seem as if the damage never happened. We ensure the frame, body panels, paint and any other affected parts are up to standard before a repair is complete.
We are a Honda ProFirst repair facility, certified in Honda and Acura repair, and an Assured Performance facility for Hyundai and Kia. We have special experience with Honda and Hyundai models.
Collision repair starts from the ground up with evaluating your vehicle’s damage. Our experienced staff of estimators work closely with our highly trained technhicians to evaluate and assess all damage related to the loss.
If we determine that the vehicle can be safely and economically repaired, we then blueprint the repairs and obtain any needed parts from our suppliers nationwide.
We will then contact you to go over repairs and timelines. Depending on the damage, repairs can take anywhere from a couple days to several weeks.
You don’t need to be carless while your own car is in the shop, though; we have a variety of near-new rental SUVs and sedans to drive at a low cost. This cost may be covered by your insurance company.
Collision repair stages
Done correctly, collision repair is a detailed process. A typical repair at our Twin Cities shop involves these steps:
- Prescan vehicle for possible trouble codes
- Disassembly & blueprinting of repair
- Further damage evaluation; assesment of any hidden damage
- Contact insurance company for supplemental approval if needed
- Set up, measure and repair frame/unibody if needed
- External panel replacement or repair as needed
- Paint prep, painting, and drying
- Buffing and polishing of refinished area
- Final re-assembly
- Mechanical repairs, such as alignments or calibration of lane-watch systems, as needed (in service center)
- Post scan to check for and clear any trouble codes
- Cleanup and final inspection
Auto Body Painting
We use PPG water-based paint for true color matching and carefully blend the correct shade for each job individually. A single vehicle can easily have 20 or 30 different shades of paint, making a perfect match a highly skilled achievement.
We have been spraying PPG paint produtcs for 30 years and we have always been at the forefront of new technology and products to ensure the best possible color matches. Our painters are PPG factory trained and certified, and stay current in an ever-changing world of automotive refinishes.
Your vehicle’s new paint will be applied and set in a specialized paint booth right here on site, with great care taken to ensure the new paint is applied exactly where it is needed and other areas are left untouched.
Painting technology
- We spray Envirobase waterborne basecoat color, with a urethane clearcost for depth, shine and protection that will last in the harsh Minnesota and Wisconsin climate.
- We use PPG’s Rapid Match spectrophotometer to take color readings of the vehicle’s paint, and a computerized paint mixing system to help us achieve the best possible color matches.
- We use two downdraft Spraybake paint booths with special blows and infrared lamps to help cure corrosion-resistant primers, sealers, basecoat and clearcoat materials.
Paintless Dent Repair
Many smaller dents, including most light hail damage, can be removed using paintless dent repair, or PDR. Because the body panel does not need to be replaced or repainted, PDR is a faster and more affordable option.
The key criteria for a PDR is whether the paint was damaged or cracked by the impact. If the paint surface is broken, traditional repair techniques will need to be used. Typically, PDR-repairable dents will be on the smaller size, but sometimes large, “soft” cave-ins can also be repaired using PDR methods.
- PDR does not require a report to insurance – keep your premiums low!
- Most PDRs are completed in just a few hours
- Highly experienced on-site technician at our St Paul repair shop
